I know the season already started and the defending champs are 1-0, but before the rest of the games begin takes must be given and predictions must be made! Behold, how the 2025 NFL season will unfold…
NFC East:
The Commanders start better than the Eagles before their season gets harder and they go bust down the stretch, missing the playoffs. The Cowboys looked much better last night than they really are considering they attacked the void left by Jalen Carter to great first half success…and then fell on their faces once the Eagles adjusted. They cannot box with God. The Giants will win some fluke games, not unlike Washington last year, and get their fans irrationally excited despite the dubious foundationally triumvirate of Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll, and John Mara.
NFC Playoff Participants
- Eagles – East Winner
- Lions – North Winner
- Buccaneers – South Winner
- Rams – West Winner
- Packers – Wild Card 1
- Seahawks – Wild Card 2
- Vikings – Wild Card 3
I think the Vikings have a great team, but a rookie QB is very worrisome. Speaking of which, I do not trust Jordan Love to win close games for his team so the Lions get the edge in that gauntlet of a division. I’m bullish on the Seahawks despite Darnold and the Rams are the only team I am worried about. Not that worried, but still worried.
AFC Playoff Participants
- Chiefs – West Winner
- Bills – East Winner
- Ravens – North Winner
- Texans – South Winner
- Broncos – Wild Card 1
- Bengals – Wild Card 2
- Patriots – Wild Card 3
I didn’t realize it until right now, but the AFC stinks this year. The division winners are basically already set and it’s a who-do-you-hate-least for the wild card other than the Broncos. The Chiefs get to play the Eagles, Bills, Lions, and Ravens, but otherwise have a pretty easy schedule. If they go 2-2 in those games they should get the #1 seed.

Award Winners and Miscellaneous
- Jalen Hurts finally gets the MVP award that was taken from him in 2022 (I really think he finishes 2nd to Mahomes on some bullshit, but I’m not writing that outside the blissful comfort of parenthesis)
- Jihaad Campbell loses the Rookie DPOY on some bullshit
- I really thought Jalen Carter would win DPOY this year, but after last night I can’t see him getting the votes even after he puts up a great season
- Saquon doesn’t get to 2000 yards, but manages his second-best receiving season behind his rookie year that has people saying things like “he’s a more complete back this season” whatever that means
- Nolan Smith shrugs off a slow start last night to put up 15 sacks
- I’ll add more as I think of them later
Super Bowl 60
The rubber match between the Chiefs and Eagles ends with a game much more like 2023 than 2025. This time the Good Guys win 31-28 with Hurts getting his chance to drive for the game winner and winning his second MVP trophy.
