When it comes to sports, ever since I was a kid I was much better at following the stats, trades, and contracts in the newspapers than actually playing any of them. The wins/losses, dollar signs, and backs of the trading cards were what mattered for me. A few decades later, nothing’s really changed. Now instead of just bothering my wife and friends about it, I have this website to bother anyone who wants to be bothered!
What does that mean? It means Philly sports coverage. It means contracts, trades, and any other transactions you need to know about the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. It means heavy coverage of the draft, the trade deadlines, and free agency. It means none of the WIP style nonsense that speculates on what you don’t want to here just to make you mad. It means one or two articles per day and one podcast per week give or take.
So, if someone tells me, “YOU DON’T KNOW BALL” they are right. If it’s not running in a straight line, I can’t do it. I can’t breakdown a defensive coverage or clog up a chalk board with Xs and Os. I can tell you what our GMs are going to do though, I can tell you how much our teams have to spend, and I sure as hell can make bad dad jokes, puns, and Simpsons references while doing it.
Full disclosure, I grew up in South Jersey and now live in Miami. This is my way of staying in touch with the fans and family I miss and love. Any time our boys are in town, I try to get to the game, and I go back home whenever I can which isn’t enough. So, I’m not in Philly but I’ve still shed all the tears and have been just as big a mess as anyone.
