November is just flying by. I say this every year, and it seems like stupid small talk when you say it to people, but it really does feel like the years go by so much faster nowadays. Having young kids and spending your free time writing a degenerate gambling article will do that.
I can’t believe we are headed into the weekend before Thanksgiving, which is without question the best week of the year. Sadly, this also means we are at the goal line of the college football regular season. All that’s left is rivalry week, the Bowls, and the College Football Playoff. Alas, as we reach the end of this inaugural season of JoeyBets, I can’t help but get a little sentimental. When I took this job with no pay AND no benefits entitled to me whatsoever, I told myself that I was going to try it out, look to do my best, and not become attached to the results. Well, with my recent hot streak I am sitting firmly above .500 and have become extremely invested in closing this thing out with a bang. I live my life by two mottos “Go Big or Go Home” and “Live, Laugh, Love.” With the number of games I love these next two weeks, I am going to demonstrate this to all my loyal fans.
I ask you all to continue this ride to glory with me. We are living life to the fullest, embracing joy, and appreciating love. Whether or not Santa comes to the Bets house this year depends on these next two weeks. It’s all on the line. Go Big or Go Home and always Live, Laugh, Love.
Friday Night Special
Hawaii at UNLV (-3, O/U 64.5), Friday, November 21st, 10:30 pm EST
The Friday Night Special is back. And this time I am coming in with a two for one to get us all primed, wet, erect, and ready to rock and roll this weekend.
Hawaii and UNLV both bring strong offenses to the fast track of Allegiant Stadium. UNLV’s defense is especially porous, ranking near the bottom in total defense. I expect major fireworks. Let’s roll with the over 64.5 and buy it down to 64.
I also love this Hawaii team this year. I don’t see them being stopped by UNLV’s crap defense and think they will win this one outright. I will gladly take the +3 on the Rainbow Warriors.
Early Saturday Games
Missouri at Oklahoma (-7, O/U 42.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 12:00 pm EST
Oklahoma is coming off a big win at Bama last week. Credit to them for finding a way to win. But when you dig into the box score, it paints an interesting picture. The Sooners were outgained 406-212, had a turnover differential of +3, and scored on a pick 6. In other words, Bama absolutely blew that game.
Mizzou has been solid all year, has a great running back in Ahmad Hardy, and may be getting their starting QB Beau Pribula back for this one. Mizzou’s defensive line is nasty and I like this spot for them to stay within 7. Give me Mizzou +7 (make sure you buy it to 7 as the line seems to be moving in Mizzou’s direction). Pay attention tomorrow on the status of Pribula. If he is declared out, proceed with caution. If he plays, hammer it.
Kansas at Iowa State (-4, O/U 55.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 12:00 pm EST
These are two evenly matched teams for this late season Big 12 matchup. Kansas brings the far superior QB into this game and that is going to be the difference in how this game plays out. I love catching the points with the Jayhawks in what should be a close game.
Miami at Virginia Tech (+18.5, O/U 48.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 12:00 pm EST
Miami is on the outside looking in for the CFB right now. While Mario Cristobal and Carson Beck are losers, this team has got to be extremely pissed off right now considering they beat Notre Dame week 1. I like them (Miami) to come out on fire in this one and will be taking their team total of over 32.5 -130.
Tulsa at Army (-10, O/U 45.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 12:00 pm EST
Senior day at West Point this weekend. This is always a spot where Army comes to play and I really like them to cover this number. Take Army -10 and buy it down to 9.5 if possible.
Washington State at James Madison (-13.5, O/U 42.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 1:00 pm EST
The Dukes got screwed over in this week’s CFB rankings. They didn’t even crack the top 25 despite fielding a 9-1 record and blowing out all of their conference competition week in, week out. I expected the committee to consider James Madison as the potential Group of 5 nominee. But it turns out their strength of schedule is really hurting the Dukes.
That being said, JMU is really good. Let’s not forget they still have the culture and talent on the team from when Curt Cignetti was building this program into a real contender. They need to show out on Saturday and destroy Washington State. Let’s take the Dukes at -13.5.
Mercer at Auburn (-28, O/U 50.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 2:00 pm EST
Mercer is a 9-1 FCS team catching 4 touchdowns here at Auburn. Auburn is going to be looking ahead to the Iron Bowl next week to try to salvage their season. I firmly acknowledge this is playing with fire because I am making a case to bet a division 2 team on the road against an SEC team. Hold your nose and ride with me on this one. You’ll be happy that you did. Give me the Mercer Bears at +28!
Late Saturday Games
Tennessee at Florida (+4.5, O/U 57.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 7:30 pm EST
Florida was in a position to beat Ole Miss last week in Oxford. They are playing their asses off for their interim coach Billy Gonzales. I am going to chalk up their stinker against Kentucky as an aberration because they have played a lot of good teams tough this season.
This will be a night game in the Swamp on senior night. I would be shocked if we don’t see a spirited effort from the Gators. They can run the ball and will keep this one close. Take the Gators as home dogs here.
Arizona State at Colorado (+7.5, O/U 46.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 8:00 pm EST
No one is going to be taking Colorado. They are 3-7 and going up against a ranked Sun Devil team that has beaten the dark horse national title contender and JoeyBets favorite Texas Tech. However, when the market zigs, JoeyBets zags. Arizona State will have their backup QB starting and Colorado has to show some fight after losing three straight. Give me Colorado and make sure you get the 7.5.
Utah State at Fresno State (-2.5, O/U 50.5), Saturday, November 22nd, 10:30 pm EST
Utah State lost a heartbreaker last week at UNLV. Had it not been for their kicker missing multiple field goals, they win that game. Utah State can score against anyone. Their offense is the clear best unit in this game and that is going to translate to a win. Give me the Aggies and buy it up to +3.
Last Week: 5-1
2025 Season: 52-45-1
