Last week’s performance was flat out surgical. I carved up the board. As long as I keep this up, I can leave Ed and PFO high and dry, create my own publication that actually produces a profit, and then perform an extremely hostile takeover of PFO where I leave Ed destitute. But I can’t get too cocky. I must keep grinding. The gambling gods can make a fool out of you very quickly. There is more work to do before I steamroll Ed (EDitor’s Note: PFO will not cave to the threats of Big Oil).1

More importantly, this weekend is our annual Eagles road trip. While I love going to a Birds game in Philly because the tailgating scene and associated energy are as good as it gets, the tradition of going to an away game has brought an entirely new perspective on what it means to be an Eagles fan. You get to experience another team’s gameday culture, meet their fans and get an outsider’s view on the Eagles, and most importantly get to party with fellow Eagles fans who travel in droves doing the same thing we are doing.
With this year’s trip being Chicago, we will have a plethora of activities to choose from this weekend. Watching football while bar hopping will obviously be at the top of the list. Wrigleyville for an NFL Sunday Funday is going to be electric. The Windy City is also known for excellent food and Ed has stated that he’s going to take down a Maxwell Street Polish in one bite (EDitor’s Note: Don’t threaten me with a good time). We’ll get some action shots so that he can use them for his Grindr profile (for those interested, his account name is AnusDestroyerEd69).

Notre Dame at Purdue (+27.5, o/u 57.5)

Purdue’s defense is flat out terrible. Notre Dame scored 56 on Purdue last year and 66 the year before. This is the get right spot for Notre Dame’s offense that they need. I absolutely love the over here. I am taking the over 57.5 and the over on the Notre Dame team total of 41.5.
Ole Miss at Florida (-3.5, o/u 59.5)

These teams are both top 10. While Florida has not been recognized as such yet, John Sumrall has them looking like a force and ready to make waves this season. I am petrified to bet against Trinidad Chambliss, but this is a tough spot for Ole Miss going into the Swamp and coming off a hugely emotional game last week against LSU. Add to that, Ole Miss +3.5 is by far the most bet side this weekend by the public. Give me the Gators -3.5 and look to try to get it at -3 if possible. Let’s also add in the over but buy it down to 58.5.
Utah at Iowa State (+7.5, o/u 47.5)

I don’t think Utah is being respected enough. They are a top 10 team that has a good chance of making the playoffs. I like the Utes here on the road. Buy this to -7 or -6.5.
Iowa at Michigan (-5.5, o/u 38.5)

This game is going to be a slog. The stereotypical Big Ten battle with lots of punts. Tease Iowa up to +11.5 and the under to 44.5 and let’s win some easy money.
Central Michigan at Miami (-41.5, o/u 54.5)

Central Michigan might be the worst FBS team in the nation. They are going to get the shit kicked out of them in Miami. Take the Canes -41.5 and the Canes team total of over 46.5.

NC State had an all-time loss last weekend at Vanderbilt. Losing a fumble in the end zone as you are trying to take a safety while up 3 points with just seconds left in the game instantly became an all-time bad beat scenario. The closing line of that game was Vanderbilt -3.5. Because one second was left on the clock when Vanderbilt recovered the fumble for a TD meant they had to kick the extra point. NC State lost by 4.
The Wolfpack have been national news all week because of that mishap. They are going to come in pissed off and ready to put that one behind them by beating up an App State team that, while solid, is not on the same level as NC State. Give me the Wolfpack and buy the half point to -13.5.
Mizzou at Miss St (-6, o/u 58.5)

Mississippi State is one of the surprise teams of the season so far. (Super) Kamario Taylor is freaking awesome and leads an offense that scores in bunches. Obviously, I love the over here at 58.5.
