The Eagles have sent former pro bowl center Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens. This is a shocker. Details coming in, but I’ll get to the details…

The trade is Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Ravens for a 2028 second-round selection and a 2027 fifth-rounder.

The Eagles will eat a huge chunk of dead cap with this move, $15m next season. They do save $1m this year though. Originally he was set to eat $8m in cap for 2027

How did we got a 2nd round pick for Jurgens?

While the Jurgens trade is awful for the Eagles cap sheet, it’s fantastic for the Ravens. Why? Because he only costs and $1m this season. For next year, his $16m comp is guaranteed but with void years it will only come to around $4m. By moving back to center and replacing Tyler Linderbaum, he could be a steal for the Ravens.

Still, getting a 2nd and a 5th for a guy who has no business being on the field is insane value. It almost seems like they have the details wrong.

I wrote last week about how there was no way to marry getting enough value for Jurgens to eat his cap hit. I was very wrong about that. I don’t think I’ve ever been more shocked (in a good way) about trade compensation.

Future picks

The Eagles now have two extra 5th round picks in 2027 and an extra 1st and 2nd in 2028.

Cap Space

I’ll do a full reprojection of future cap space and extensions when I get back from vacation. Anyone else going to the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta???
