The 2024 Eagles are the best Eagles team of all time. No notes on that one. By every metric they are one of the best football teams ever assembled. Seeing this year’s team, I think we appreciate that run a little more. I’m not ragging on the 2025 Birds, but last year? Damn that was fun. So, what have this year’s team given us for Christmas? Hope.
Flyers Christmas Gift: Sweet Baby Zegras

Hope? Go on…
The reason we are all going absolutely crazy about the Eagles this season is because we know what’s at stake. If last year’s team was one of the best ever and this year’s team has the same cast of characters, that means a repeat is right there. Repeat Super Bowl champions? That’s dynasty stuff. That’s NFL immortality stuff. It’s the kind of team that everyone remembers and is proud of forever. We don’t want that to slip through our fingers.
The best multi year reign of most of our lifetimes is the 2007-2011 Phillies. Some of the greatest Phillies ever were on that team: Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels. “World Fucking Champions” was and still is a badge of honor. That team is ours, but they aren’t legendary in the annals of MLB history. Just the one title holds us back. We got close and probably should have won 2 or 3 with that group, but it didn’t happen. It’s hard and it got away.
This Eagles team has it in them! Two Super Bowl appearances and one win in three years is really good, but it’s not all time great. We’d remember forever, but it would be forgotten to NFL history; second fiddle to the Chiefs and Patriots. Two wins and three appearances in four years? That’s completely different. That’s forever, Team of the Decade stuff. We can feel it in our hands and don’t want it slipping through our fingers.
This year we worry about the coach, and the QB, and the WR, and CB2, and the kicker because we are scared. Scared that what we want so bad might be lost on the smallest of details. But we also know that this team has done it before. This isn’t the Eagles our parents grew up with. These are the two time Super Bowl Champion Eagles. The Eagles that win. The Eagles that amaze. The Eagles that fly. The Eagles that give us hope!!!

The Eagles 2026 schedule is strange. That doesn’t mean it’s bad or overly difficult, just very strange. There is no murderer’s row stretch like over the last two years, so that’s good. However, we do have to play 4 teams coming off BYE weeks. I don’t have any long-term statistics on such things, but that…

UPDATE: The Rams signed Aaron Donald. They were already #1 on the list, but that solidifies their hold Welcome to the 2nd annual NFL Hate List!!! An ESSENTIAL part of the Philadelphia Eagles experience is having all sorts of grudges across the NFL landscape. Sometimes it feels like there are too many to keep up…

UPDATE: JT Gray has been cut, likely paving the way for Kelee Ringo to be our main special teams gunner. I’ve always thought final roster predictions were silly. Experts would get themselves in a tizzy over guys who would likely not factor into the season in the least and the whole exercise seemed trite. The…

Baltimore Memorial Stadium was built in 1954 in order to entice not only to house the St. Louis Browns of Major League Baseball but also the Baltimore Colts who had ceased operations a few years earlier but were now ready to return. The Browns became the Orioles and the Colts remained the Colts, but sports…

When the Eagles drafted Defensive Tackle Uar Bernard, they were taking a chance on someone who has undeniable physical ability but also absolutely zero football skills. He simply hasn’t played any real football in his life. Bernard is now going through training camp and learning the game, showing off his abilities whenever he can. For…

Over the weekend, Lane Johnson announced that this will probably be his last season with the Eagles before retiring. Even though we all knew this was coming either this season or next, it still hit like a Lane Johnson pancake block. What does this mean? Here are the answers to all of your questions… Who…

I know we are all starved for football right now with training camp just starting and the season still an agonizing month away, but don’t let that lower your standards for content by engaging with outlets that do not understand what’s going on with the Eagles. The local media is just dying for something negative…
