Strap in and see the leaked script for the 2026 NFL season. Yup, everything you are about to read will 100% happen. Just you wait, by the end of the season everything in here will be completely correct… assuming I remember to edit the hell out of it after I get everything wrong.
Also, I am incredibly biased and optimistic when it comes to my sports teams. To combat this problematic inclination to put the Eagles down for everything, I am going to pick a non-Eagles related winner for everything then give the reason an Eagle could win it. Here we go…
Awards
- MVP
- Winner: Joe Burrow. Considering the Bengals should be improved but at a talent deficit to players like Josh Allen, Burrow might have a bit of a runway to win this with a better record and elite stats. If I were to put money on it, I would probably go with Caleb Williams though, not that I think he will win it.
- Eagle: Jalen Hurts. Hurts should have won this award in 2022 but got hurt at the end of the season and lost momentum. All it takes is winning a lot and positive media buzz. If Hurts looks pretty throwing the ball the wins will come no problem and everyone will lose their minds.
- OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Ja’Marr Chase. This is purely a hedge on my MVP pick. Chase might be the best receiver I’ve ever seen but he’s certainly top 5 and him getting to 120 catches and 1500+ yards would be hard to ignore. It’s certainly on the table.
- Eagle: Jalen Hurts. Yes, Saquon Barkley could win this award again if he puts up 2024 video game numbers again, but as the team stacks wins, the Jalen Hurts coming out party will be impossible to ignore.
- DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Will Anderson. The best player on the best defense is going to win this award thanks to a breakout sack season that has him pushing 20 and winning this award going away.
- Eagle: Jalen Carter. He has the ability to be close to what Aaron Donald was ten years ago. If he can turn more of his pressures into sacks, this one is not very farfetched.
- COACH OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Kellen Moore. If the Saints win the NFC South, this one is a lock.
- Eagle: At some point, Nick Sirianni has to get the award for his body of work, right? Never. The Eagles could go 17-0 and they would find a way to give this award to someone else.
- OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Jadarian Price. Everything is in place for Price to have a great rookie year for the Seahawks. Even with a slow start, a consistent presence and 10 TDs will get it done with a rough rookie class.
- Eagle: Makai Lemon. There’s a world where Lemon picks apart linebackers in underneath routes all season opening up the field for big chunks to DeVonta Smith. If that happens, Lemon could end up with 75+ catches without anyone fully realizing it until late in the season.
- DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Rueben Bain Jr. He’s very good and very angry. If he doesn’t get to double digit sacks I would be surprised. Not to mention, he has a talented defensive line around him that should make his job easier than someone like David Bailey.
- Eagle: No Eagles eligible, Rueben Bain no matter what.
- COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR
- Winner: Either Patrick Mahomes of Aaron Donald. I’m not picking just one because there’s a good chance they end up splitting it. Both have all the narrative juice anyone could want.
- Eagle: If this ends up being the Most Improved Award instead, give it to Jalyx Hunt. There’s a real chance of a monster 12+ sack breakout season here.
