This has been an extremely rough week from a sports perspective. Ed already posted an article this morning that felt like you were watching a car crash in slow motion as you read it. I can write a book right now about all the things going wrong with the Eagles. And for the Phillies season (and the multi-year run for this core group of players) to end the way it did last night was unbelievably cruel. All I will say about that is that I hope Orion Kerkering is able to overcome that mistake and continue to be a successful MLB player. If I ever see Orion out in public, I will buy him a beer. I think all of Philadelphia will do the same.

On top of all the woes of being a Philly fan right now, my picks article has flat out stunk this year. I had a terrible week last week and lost big on the shitty money line parlay I cooked up. I have done no research whatsoever this week and will simply be going off my gut feel on these games. I mean it can’t get any worse, right? I am currently sitting in the dark listening to DMX while I type this up so yes, it can get worse.1

We have a nice slate of games this weekend. The best part though, no Philly sports. I am happy about that. Maybe I will just go apple picking after all.

Washington State at Ole Miss (-31.5, O/U 58.5), Saturday October 11th, 12:45 pm EST

I talked a few weeks ago about how terrible Washington State is. I don’t see how they can keep this close against an elite Ole Miss team at home. I am hammering this line and will buy it down to -31. I am also taking the over because that’s what I do.

Kansas at Texas Tech (-14.5, O/U 58.5), Saturday October 11th, 7:30 pm EST

Texas Tech continues to be my team this year. They are freaking awesome. Kansas brings a really good offense into this matchup that will test Tech’s elite defense. I like Tech to pass that test, cover the -14.5 (buy it down to -14) and for this over to hit as well. Take both.

Arkansas at Tennessee (-9.5, O/U 67.5), Saturday, October 11th, 4:15 pm EST

Bobby Petrino returns as the head coach of Arkansas after they fired Sam Pittman. Petrino gets a second chance after he was fired by the Razorbacks when his affair with a subordinate was uncovered after he crashed his motorcycle. That is an absurd situation.2

Anyways, I am taking the over here.

Iowa State at Colorado (+2.5, O/U 52.5), Saturday October 11th, 3:30 pm EST

I am going to continue to fade Colorado when they are playing against a quality opponent. I think Iowa State wins this one by more than a field goal. Take the Cyclones at -2.5.

Ohio State at Illinois (+14.5, O/U 50.5), Saturday October 11th, 3:30 pm EST

Illinois has played well the last couple of weeks after the curb stomping they took against Indiana. That said, I don’t see how they score against this dominant Buckeyes defense. Give me Ohio State and buy it down to -14.

Alabama at Missouri (+2.5, O/U 51.5), Saturday October 11th, 12:00 pm EST

Another over play for me here. I am tempted to take Missouri but it feels to me that Bama has turned the corner. I think points come in bunches.

Indiana at Oregon (-7.5, O/U 53.5), Saturday October 11th, 3:30 pm EST

One more over. This one goes out to all the haters and losers, of which there are many. What if we just won every over this week?

Last Week: 2-5
